Cheese Biscuits Recipe

If you are tired of plain biscuits, try this one made with cheese and Tabasco for a real kick. Goes great with dinner.

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozerrella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

    Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the shortening and mix in the cheeses until the mix is crumbly. Add the buttermilk and Tabasco and stir gently until all ingredients are moist. Spoon 1 tablespoon portions of this mix on a greased baking sheet.

    Place biscuits in oven for 9 minutes or until golden brown. Take out immediately and brush tops with melted butter.
