Sweet And Tangy Barbecue Sauce
Want to impress your family and friends at your next barbecue? Tell them you made your own barbecue sauce. This is an easy recipe which should take you about 1-1/2 hours total to make. The longer you let this cook, the thicker it will get.
In a heavy pot over medium heat, add tomato paste and break it down with a wooden spoon. Stir in vinegar until it is smoothly blended with sauce. Add the brown sugar and stir until it is dissolved. Add the freshly crushed garlic and onion and stir in. Add the honey, soy sauce, salt and mustard powder and stir in. Cover and set stove to low heat. Stir occassionally. Cook for 20 minutes and let cool at room temperature for 1 hour before pouring into a glass jar for storage. This will keep up to 3 weeks.
