Vegetable Plate
When expecting a large crowd for a party or the holidays, this vegetable platter is an ideal appetizer or snack tray to put on display for all your guests to help themselves whilst waiting for whatever main event you have in mind.
- 22 inch round platter
- small dip compartment
- 2 cups baby carrots
- 6 medium stalks of celery
- 12 ounce package cream cheese (or all natural peanut butter if serving vegans)
- 1 sweet green pepper
- 1 sweet red pepper
- 12 ounce can whole pitted black olives
- 12 ounce can green olives with pimento
- 1 cup sliced pickled peppers
- 3 large red apples
- 3 large green apples
On a platter, organize groups of food and layout from the center to the outer edge divided by group. With the celery, make sure to rinse and cut in thirds across the width and fill the center with cream cheese or peanut butter. With the apples, wash and core them before slicing them width-wise to create apple rings.
For the dip compartment, choose your favourite toppings to compliment this selection of fruit and vegetables. Suggestions: ranch dressing, honey mustard dressing, and caramel topping.
Remember, when serving for strict vegetarians, you will omit the cream cheese and substitute that with a suitable peanut butter free of meat or artificial by-products or just serve the celery plain.
For a large party, you may want to serve this alongside the Cheese And Sausage Plate.
