Lunch Menu Options
Lunch is between breakfast and dinner and meant to be the mid-day source of energy to keep you going through your daily tasks until you rest in the evening.
Many nutrition experts agree that there should be more than the 3 groups of breakfast, lunch and dinner each day and encourage smaller portions of the big three as well as 3 light snacks in between.
For many people, the 6 time meal schedule is just not practical. It is hard enough for some to just find the time to eat on a normal schedule. They may even skip whole meals and eat one big meal late in the day which leads to obesity problems.
Just as it is important to eat a good breakfast, it is equally important to eat a good lunch. If most of the calories one consumes is kept to these first two meals, one could maintain a lower weight.
What you do for lunch will depend on your circumstances. If you are bagging a lunch you may do something entirely different than if you were eating a lunch at home.
Traditionally, lunches involve some sort of sandwich, a beverage, a piece of fruit, and perhaps a sweet snack. These items are easy to take along for a bagged lunch.
If you are within access to a microwave, there are many ready-made meals you could easily pop in, but you must really be sure of its nutritional value, sodium content, and other added chemicals put into the product. Most ready-made meals are not cost effective. You could make your own version of the same meal if you plan ahead. If you create pre-made hot meals for your lunch, you could freeze them until you need them and then put them in a microwave when ready. You have better quality control over the ingredients in them and can put a halt on the cost per unit.
