Make Your Own Curry Powder
This recipe is best done in a mini coffee grinder, pepper mill, or any hand-held grinding kitchen appliance. A blender or food processor won't do it justice.
- 4 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 Tbsp. cardomon seeds
- 1 Tbsp. turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
In hot skillet, toast cumin and cardomon seeds. Make sure you do not let them burn.
Cool the seeds and put into your grinder along with the remaining spices. Store in an airtight spice jar. It should remain good for up to 3 months.
When using to make your curry dish, remember to add salt to taste as this recipe has none added like many store varieties.
